She was born July 27, 1922, in Surry, the daughter of Alvah E. and Lillian (Deviow) Leach. She made her home in Surry. She was a homemaker and enjoyed being with her children and spending time with her husband Lawrence A. 'Andy' Webber. They had a very large vegetable garden that they harvested and canned in season. Gertrude enjoyed people stopping by the house and socialized with them. She was known in the community as the house where the mothers would gather and the children would be outside playing. After her children were grown she worked at the Wymans blueberry factory. She is survived by her grandchildren, Lisa Bubel of Surry, Billy Webber of Ellsworth, Clyde Webber, Tenn., and Ben Wbber of Bangor, Ericka Bryant of Vinalhaven and Brandy Webber of Biddeford, and many great-grandchildren, especially Rebekah and Sue Bubel. She was predeceased by her husband, Andy; two sons, Louis and Clyde Webber; a daughter, Donna Leach."
