Halgrim died on 28 Mar 1923. He was buried in Jevnaker Cemetery, Borup, Norman County, MN. He appeared in District Court, 14th Judicial District, to apply for citizenship. He signed the application by making his mark on 10 May 1890 in Moorhead, Clay County, MN.
