[23303] Isaac Allerton was a merchant who made frequent trips to England on personal and Plymouth Colony business. He r. Plymouth, Marblehead, New Amstersam and New Haven. "The English Ancestry and Homes of the Pilgrim Fathers," Charles Edward Banks (Baltimore: Genealogical Pub. Co., 1989), p. 29: "He was called a tailor of London in the Leyden records, and was born in 1586, according to his deposition. ...He became a merchant engaged in extensive trading in New England. As early as 1611 he was a resident of Leyden where he married Mary Norris of Newbury, co. Berks, for his first wife. In 1614, he was admitted as burgess of Leyden and it is worthy of note that Robert Allerton, called a 'Scotchman,' was living there contemporaneously with Isaac. None of the London registers nor the records of the Merchants Tailors Company of London give a positive clue to Isaac Allerton." For a detailed account of Isaac's dealing with the colony of New Sweden, see "The Mayflower Quarterly," Issue 73:1 (March 2007), pp. 65-71.

[22169] From George A. Wheelers "History of Castine, Penobscot and Brooksville, Maine" (privately printed in Cornwall, NY, 1923). p. 169: "Mr. Mark Hatch, was born August 14, 1746, in the town of Scituate, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. His wifes name was Abigail. She was born in Marshfield, Massachusetts, May 20, 1746, and died in this town on November 30, 1831. Mr. Hatch was one of the four original settlers here prior to the Revolutionary war. He owned the northeastern portion of the peninsula. He removed his family sometime after the British took possession of the place, at the time of the Revolution, but returned here about 1785. He is said to have been the builder of the windmill which formerly stood near the west entrance of the cemetery. He had four sons. Mark Hatch, Jr., was born at this place, November 6, 1771, it being a part of Lincoln County; Jonathan, was born August 28, 1774; John, was born October 19th, 1777; and James, October 21, 1779. He also had three daughters; Abigail, born March 9, 1783, died December 27, 1796; Eggathy Phillips, born April 19, 1785; and Lucy, born March 20, 1787. Mr. Hatch, the father, died in this town, August 5, 1833."
