[49068] Edward's grave marker states he was born in 1894. "Intelligencer Journal [Lancaster, Pennsylvania], 3 October 1960," p. 2: "Edward F. Longer, seventy-six, 25 N. Ann St., died Friday at 10:30 p.m. in St. Joseph's Hospital following an illness of two years. He was born in Snyder County, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Longer. He was a retired machinist, having worked with the Bearings Company of America for 15 years. He was a member of the Mechanic Grove Church of Brethren. Survivors include his wife, Clessie M. Pollock; a daughter, Elizabeth G., wife of Harry Bleacher, Providence Twp.; four sons, David F., Lancaster; Earl W., Terre Hill; Walter S., Lancaster; and Alfred Leroy, Lancaster R2; sixteen grandchildren, and the following half sisters: Mrs. Annie Bergenstresser, Bethlehem; Mabel Orwig, Bellevue. Ohio; and two half brothers, Oliver Longer, Snyder County, and Samuel Longer, also of Snyder County."

Ewers in a letter 13 Jan 1963 states "The Prices are supposed to be descended from Rees ap David Lloyd, a squire of Edward IV" and enclosed the chart showing a partial descent (not to our John) as published in "History of Powys Fadog," by J. Y. W. Lloyd, Vol. 4, pp. 374-5. "Directory of the Ancestral Heads of New England Families, 1620-1700", Frank R. Holmes, compiler (Baltimore: Genealogical Publishing Co., 2008), p. 194 offers: "Price. From the Welsh, a corruption of Ap Rice, the son of Rice."
