Minick, 75, formerly a justice of the peace in Perry County, died last Thursday morning, September 26, at his home, Elizabethtown R. D. 1, following a brief illness. A son of the late John and Hannah Corlan Minick, he was born in Huntingdon County. After retiring from a 20-year career in painting and carpentry, Minick operated a service station and restaurant in Perry County for 18 years. He retired two years ago. Prom 1954 to ' 1961, Minick was a justice of the peace in New Buffalo, Perry County. He was a member of the Friendship Fire Company, this borough, and of the New Buffalo Fire Company. He is survived by his wife, Emma Shiley Minick, and four sons: Scott M.. Bainbridge; Dean C. and Guy B., Elizabethtown R. D. 1, and George C, Newville, Cumberland County. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a half-brother, Guy Shanafelter, Blaine, Perry County." William is son of John Minick and Hannah Mary Carlin who m. 2nd Frederick J. Shanafelter. William r. in the Bainbridge area of Lancaster Co. From 1954 to 1961 he was a Justice of the Peace at New Buffalo, Perry Co. He operated a service station and restaurant on Routes 11-15 there after retiring as a carpenter and painter.
