To son John a farm at Great Whelnetham. Mentions sons, Robert and William; daughters, Elizabeth, Anne, Grace and Ellen. To daughter, Prudence, wife of Robert Cason, a legacy and to grand-daughter,Mary Hammond. Makes his son, John Hammond, sole executor. It may have been this son, Robert Hammond an uncle to Elizabeth (Cason) Hammond, who was in Scituate, Massachusetts owning land there while Thomas and Elizabeth were residents of Hingham."

He is son of Amasa Hatch (1802-1899) & Priscilla Baker (1802-1849; m. 7 October 1821 in China, Kennebec Co., ME). "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 14 March 1916, p. 9: "The death of Andrew J. Hatch occurred at his home in Alton Sunday night at the age of 85 years. He has also lived in Alton where he taught school for years and at other times worked at the carpenter trade. He leaves to mourn their loss, a wife, one daughter, Mrs. Grace Whiting of Alton and six sons, Fred, John and Andrew J., Harry and Amosin of Alton, and Fremont Hatch of Argyle. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Angie Knox and Mrs. Vine Ellis of Alton who have the sympathy of their friends in their loss."
