She was born Oct. 28, 1958, in Bar Harbor, the daughter of Allen S. and Patricia L. (Campbell) Dunbar. Debra was a graduate of Sumner Memorial High School, Class of 1977, and from Husson College, Class of 1979 with an associate's degree as medical secretary. She was employed by the Town of Sullivan for 15 years, serving as deputy town clerk, tax collector, and treasurer. In addition to her mother, Debra is survived by her husband of 23 years, Jerome T. Briggs; two daughters, Erika Briggs and Courtney-Leanne Briggs, all of Sullivan; two sisters, Lynn Murphy and her husband, James, and Dawn Doughty and her husband, Tim, all of Sullivan; a niece, Whitney Doughty; and a nephew, Allen Doughty; two stepdaughters, Alisson Lewis of North Carolina and Kristy Whittelsey of New Mexico; her father and mother-in-law, Earl and Morna Briggs of Corea; a sister-in-law, Brenice Briggs of Gouldsboro; a brother-in-law, Terry Briggs of Boston, Massachusetts; two special uncles, Courtney Campbell and Phillip Dunbar, both of Sullivan; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and her many friends. She will also be missed by her canine friends, Tonka and Sophie. Additionally, Debra will be remembered by her special friends, Phyllis and Walter Moore."

[1307] Jonathan left two sons, George and Thomas, under the guardianship of an uncle, so presumably died after his wife. The uncle appears to have wanted them out of the way in order to gain their inheritances, so shipped them to America. Thomas finally settled at Enfield in 1682 and George was one of the first settlers at New London about 1651. N.B. [21307] He and his brother "Bert" moved to Orland, ME and were brickmakers there."The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine], 15 January 1923," p. 5: "The people of Orland were saddened by the news of the death of Artemus W. Hutchings which occurred at his home in Orland Jan. 8th. For a number of years Mr. Hutchings had been in failing health, although getting about for most of the time. The end came after two weeks of severe suffering. Mr. Hutchings was born in Penobscot in 1849. In 1876 he came to Orland and engaged in the brick business with his brother under the firm name of A. W. and A. B. Hutchings, manufacturers of brick. He continued in the brick business, for about 42 years and then retired. Since retiring from business while keeping about as much as possible, Mr, Hutchings has had a hard struggle with the desease from which he finally succumbed Jan. 8th at the age of 73. His many friends at Orland, Penobscot and elsewhere will long remember him for his integrity as a man of business, and for his loyalty as a citizen and friend. He is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Nina Wright of Bangor, his son Roland, who is a sophomore at the University of Maine, also three brothers, A. B. and F. Homer Hutchings of Orland and Geo. W. Hutchings of Whittier, Cal."
