[19629] Shubael married in 1696 Puella Hussey of Nantucket. http://www.heritagepursuit.com/BakerEA.htm offers: "Shubael, the youngest son, was intended for one of the learned professions, but instead served an apprenticeship with a carpenter. After his mother's death, when he was 16, his brother James became his guardian. After his marriage in 1696 to Puella Hussey of Nantucket, he moved to South Sea (West Yarmouth). He built his house near the landing at Hyannis Port. It was a large 2 story building, kept by him as a tavern. In 1706, with his brother in law Thomas Baxter and his nephew, John Baxter, he built a fulling-mill in Yarmouth."

[40852] The unverified Rogers Family Tree in Ancestry.com in 2016 offers: "Christopher Osgood was born in 1569 in Hampshire. He had two sons with Elizabeth Brockwell between 1609 and 1615. He died on October 30, 1599, at the age of 30. . . . Elizabeth Brockwell was born in 1573 in Wiltshire . . . She died on June 18, 1612, in Hampshire, at the age of 39."
The marriage record states he m. "Emeline Jones" 25 Dec 1837 in Castine - "Maine, Marriages, 1771-1907," index, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/F4F7-4YW). Since Peter was a seaman and died in a port distant from his home in Hancock Co., ME, research should include hospital and death records for New Orleans, said to be available on microfilm there. His month and place of death are from Vivian I. Kenniston. AEM ordered a search of the Louisiana State Archives May, 1992 which found only the death certificate of a Peter Peterson who died 24 Aug 1840 at age 45 - the certificate dated 28 Aug 1840 states "...personally appeared Mr. Charles Westholz, a native of Schwartzbach in the kingdom of Wurtemberg, forty three years of age, baker by profession and residing on Moreau street corner of Foet in the third Municipality, who by these presents doth declare that Mr. Peter Peterson, a native of Sumtswall [?] in the kingdom of Sweden about forty five years of age, herefore [?] in this city Departed this life on the twenty fourth of this present month of August at three o'clock A.M. in a house on Spain street between Love and Goodchilde [?] streets in the third Municipality. The said Mr. P. Peterson is lawfully married to Mrs. Adelhaide Sutter (Sutler?), a native of the Republic of Swiss about thirty years of age the surviving widow, residing in this city" (New Orleans). IF this is our ancestor, he apparently was a bigamist and did NOT drown as reported to the Maine family. [His granddaughter Helen thought that he drowned when he fell crossing between two boats.] There is a family recollection that he was from Sweden. Note that there were several Peterson families who emigrated to New Orleans from Sweden in the mid-19th century, so this Peter may instead belong to one of these families.
"The Castine Visitor [newsletter of the Castine Historical Society], Spring 2021, p. 3: "Castine was home to one of the largest fishing fleets in Maine that caught and salted cod. Castine shipped the cod to southern ports and sold it to feed enslaved plantation workers, as well as French and Irish Catholic immigrants. In turn, the ship captains purchased raw cotton to sell in European mill ports where they then purchased salt for the return voyage home." Was Peter involved in this triangular trade or just as a crew member in a vessel trading between New England and New Orleans?
