[35384] This person is from the unverified Porter Family Tree in Ancestry.com in 2013. Find A Grave memorial 203651260 offers: "Abraham Follett and his second wife, Ruth Foster, were married 15 Dec 1720 in Attleborough, Massachusetts (Attleborough, MA Vital Records, page 419). They had a daughter, Ruth Follett, who was born 22 Sep 1721 in Attleborough (Attleborough, MA Vital Records, page 118). It is widely stated that their daughter, Ruth Follett, married Noah Carpenter. Noah Carpenter married Ruth Follett, 22 May 1727, in Attleborough (Attleborough, MA Vital Records, page 364). Clearly, Noah Carpenter did not marry Ruth Follett, the daughter of Abraham and Ruth Follett, as she would have been less than six years old. The marriage intentions make specific reference to Noah Carpenter's intended bride as being Mrs. Ruth Follett. Noah Carpenter did not marry Ruth Follett, the daughter of Abraham and Ruth Follett. Noah Carpenter married Ruth (Foster) Follett, the widow of Abraham Follett."

'The Indians succeeded, July 23, 1710, in their cherished plan of killing Colonel Hilton, who had so long been their terror. This was the most surprising and afflictive stroke of the war. This worthy officer was largely engaged in the masting business. Having several valuable trees felled the previous winter beyond Piscassic, he went out with seventeen men to peel off the bark. It is thought the party was less watchful than usual. While at work they were ambushed by the Indians, who rushed suddenly upon them. They were unable to make any defense, as their guns were useless from the storm of the day. At first fire Colonel Hilton and two others fell. Dudley Hilton, brother of Colonel Winthrop, and another man were captured, and heard from no more.' - http:___files.usgwarchives.org_nh_
