In 935 William married Gerloc of Normandy, daughter of Rollo Duke of Normandy and Poppa de Bayeux. William I "Tete d'Etoupe", Count of Poitou, became Count of Poitou in 955. He became Duke of Aquataine in 959. He became Count of Auvergne in 962. He died on Sunday, 3 April 963 as a monk. Children of William I "Tete d'Etoupe", Count of Poitou and Gerloc of Normandy: William II "Bras de Fer" Count of Poitou (+ b. a 937, d. 995) and Adelainde of Poitou (+ b. a 950, d. a 1004)."
