[25084] "The Blair Family of New England," compiled by Emily Wilder Leavett (Boston: David Clapp and Son, 1900) provides his ancestry and on p. 176 states Richard was a freeman of Farmington, CT in 1669 and a townsman there in 1682, then moved in 1686 to Kensington, CT; was one of the leaders in the Great Swamp Settlement of Kensington, and captain of the Seymour Fort which offered protection to the first settlers there; he died by the fall of a tree.
