[2424] Richard was living in Lynn, MA before 1650. He came to MA with his father about 1625. In 1681 he bought Hunfries' farm on present-day Nahant Street, Lynn. He was admitted as a freeman in 1691 and in 1692 was allowed to sit in the pulpit with seven other older men (defective hearing?). "Israel Kenny..." by Bell (1944) states that Richard is "said to have been born at Lynn Regis, Norfolk County, England, about 1625." Lewis' "History of Lynn" states he may be brother of John Hood who was of Lynn in 1657 - this would make him a son of John Hood of Halstead, Essex, England, but no son Richard is mentioned in Johm's will (NE Reg., 50:423). He was granted administration of his father-in-law's estate in 1656-57. http://www.dws.org/dlovrien/genweb/g0000044.html states Richard was b. ca. 1625 in Lynn Regis, Co. Norfolk, England. Also see http://petjr.crosswinds.net/GENE/pafg09.htm#1028 (discovered on the Internet in May, 2002 and not verified) - this site gives a different wife for Richard.
