[14768] Charles founded the Angevin dynasty in Hungary and succeeded Andrew III in 1301. Charles was deposed by Wesceslas II of Bohemia later in 1301, but was elected king by the Hungarian nobles in 1308 and formally invested in 1309. Charles levied direct taxes to support his army, encouraged trade and mercantile expansion of the cities, and increased Hungary's territory - thus making her a major power. http://www.thepeerage.com states: "He married, firstly, Maria von Schliesen-Beuthen, daughter of Casimir II Herzog von Schliesen-Beuthen, in 1306. He married, secondly, Beatrice de Luxembourg, daughter of Henri VII de Luxembourg, Holy Roman Emperor, in 1318. He married, thirdly, Elisabeth of Poland, daughter of Wladislaw I, King of Poland and Hedwig Piast, in 1320. He died in 1342 at Visegrad. He was buried at Stuhlweissenburg."
[4546] http://en.wikipedia.org offers in 2007: "Öhringen is a town in Hohenlohe (district) in the state of Baden-Württemberg, Germany near Heilbronn . . . Öhringen is the Vicus Aurelii of the Romans." Some sources state that Cuno and his family instead are of Ohningen, another town (in the district of Konstanz in Baden-Württemberg in Germany).
