Benjamin Welch of this town was my uncle. He came from Kingston, NH. I came to North Yarmouth to see my uncle the next year after the meeting house was enlarged in Aprl (1763), and worked at Col. Powell's until the fall of 1765. I was married to my present wife the spring before (May) 1765, and moved to the farm I now live on the next fall (1766). I bought my land of Powell. They lived in North Yarmouth, ME. They both lived well into their 90's. The War Record of Amos may include service at Crown Point, NY, in Capt. Jeremiah Marston's Company, of Hampton, NH, John Goffe's Regt., in French and Indian War in 1762. He enlisted July 3, 1775 in the Revolution and was in Capt. Parker's Company, a private of North Yarmouth, Cumberland, ME."

He was born September 5, 1929, in Castine, one of seven children born to Wilbert and Effie (Hutchinson) Gray. Richard, along with his wife Frances, owned the Corner Store in Newport for several years, and later retired from Edward's in Pittsfield. He was an avid hunter and golfer and had many golfing friends both here and in Florida where he and Frances spent several winters. Richard 'Dick' always said that he had a wonderful life. Richard was predeceased by his father and mother, two brothers, and four sisters."

Kimmel, 73, of 402 Herman avenue, who died last evening at the Harrisburg Hospital from injuries suffered when he fell down the cellar steps at his home after a birthday party in his honor Tuesday night, will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Musselman funeral home, with the Rev. C. C Bailey, pastor of Grace Evangelical Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Camp Hill. Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home tomorrow night after 7 o'clock.- ' A retired employe of the Harrisburg Steel Corporation, completing service last March in the open hearth department, Kimmel died the day following his seventy-third birthday. He had been guest of honor at a birthday party Tuesday night and after his friends left, he went to the cellar for some coal. It is believed he suffered a stroke while ascending the stairs and he fell backwards to the bottom. Death was caused by a fractured skull. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Jennie Kimmel; four daughters, Mrs. Quay Taylor; Mrs. Walter Smith and Mrs. Kenneth Billman, all of Lemoyne and Mrs. Emory Grissinger, Harrisburg; three sons, Vance, Carl, and Donald, all of Lemoyne; two sisters, Mrs. Harry Witman, and Mrs. Minnie Parthmore, both of Lemoyne; two brothers, Howard, Lemoyne, and Aaron, Harrisburg; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren."
