[6695] This person is presumed living.
Cornelius and his line are from George Colson of Sonoma, CA, 9/91. Cornelius was a laborer, was in Lt. Frost's garrison about 1704 (?), married Hannah Hobbs and had Abigail and Samuel. His surname is Cursenwhitt, Cosson, Corson or Curson [variants found in public records]. He is son of Jan Courson [sic] and settled at Dover, NH by 1685 - see "Penobscot Pioneers...Closson...," Philip Howard Gray (Camden: Penobscot Press, 1992), p. 49. Also see THE CORSON / COLSON FAMILY HISTORY ASSOCIATION at http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~ccfha/div1.htm which offers: "Progenitor Cornelius Cursonwhit was living in New Hampshire early as 1685. He may have migrated there from Boston, MA. His son, Samuel lived in Dover, NH in 1710. Samuel is the only son identified to date. Two possible daughters are Abigail and Hannah. Abigail Coursin or Coursonwhit was recorded as being taken captive by Abenaki Indians before 1695. It is from [Cornelius] that a line became COLSON."
http://hometown.aol.com/eleanorcol/colsonfam.html offers: "COLSON/COULSON/COLLSON: English Patronymic Name . . . COULSON originates from a very popular Middle Ages given name - Nicholas. Cole was a pet form of Nicholas used in England (primarily) and COULSON is a Scottish/Irish variation or a pet form of Nicholas.(Source of info - Becky Bartley) Variant spellings: CORSON, COLSON, COSON, CORSEN, COURSIN, CURSONWHIT, COURSON" Cf. discussion of the surname at http://www.huxford.com/Genetics_Courson.htm.

Adeliza is shown as daughter of Hugh, son of Ivo; Petronella is shown as daughter of Hugh, son of Robert (Ivo's brother). Hugh II was of Hinckley, Lancastershire.
