[4138] Encyclopaedia Britannica, 1956 Ed., 21:117: "Ordono III of Leon (951-956) acknowledged the hegemony of the caliphate..." and served under the Moorish occupation. He succeeded his brother, Sancho I (reigned 956-66) and Sancho I's son Ramiro II (reigned 966-84). The eleventh edition of the Britannica states "one of his [Fernan Gonzales] daughters married Ordono III of Leon."
