The descendants of Anna and Joshua are detailed in "The Grindle Family of Hancock County, Maine" (1978), Part II; they had ten children, all registered at Sedgwick, ME - Anna and Joshua r. on the western side of the Bagaduce River (estuary) in North Brooksville (then part of Sedgwick). Joshua was taken prisoner by the British and held captive in Castine (1779).

He succeeded his father as town clerk in Eastham for 14 years from 1663, served as Selectman for 18 years from 1667, and a deputy to the General Court 6 years from 1675. He was also Captain of the militia company in 1659.
