Alan fought in Gascony and Scotland during the reign of Edward I, and in 1311 became Governor of Rockingham Castle in Northamptonshire and was Stewart of the Rockingham Forest. The Cahill Family web site at Ancestry World Tree in 2004 lists another daughter, Elizabeth la Zouche, b. ca. 1298, d. after 1332, wife of Oliver de Ingham (b. 1287 and of Ellesmere, Shropshire, son of John de Ingham and Margery), and states that Elizabeth and Oliver had Joan de Ingham (b. 1330 in Shropshire, wife of Roger le Strange [son of John le Strange and Isolda de Ellesmere]).
