Margaret was daughter and eventually sole heiress of Thomas Plantagenet of Brotherton, Earl of Norfolk and his wife Alice de Hales. Elizabeth died in 1376 or 24 March 1397/98. Thomas Plantagenet (1 June 1300 to Aug 1388) was son of Edward I by his second marriage to Margaret daughter of Philip III of France, following his first marriage to Eleanor of Castile which had produced the future Edward II He was therefore half-brother of Edward II. Thomas held the Earldom of Norfolk which passed via his daughter Margaret and his granddaughter Elizabeth Segrave to Elizabeth's second son Thomas Mowbray."
