He was born January 27, 1931 in Farmington, the son of Robert N. Brackett and Agnes (Masterman) Brackett. Bob graduated from Jay High School. He was known for his extremely strong work-ethic, starting his first job at 8 years old and even after he retired, never sitting still for long. Bob worked in the forest industry for most of his life. In addition, he owned and operated a saw mill in Leeds for several years. Bob understood the value of schooling and encouraged his family to focus on getting an education so they could have opportunities that he didnt have. Bob lived for many years with his loving companion Lydia. Upon retiring, Bob and Lydia began traveling regularly. During this time Bob enjoyed visiting every U.S. state and especially enjoyed Alaska, which he made several trips to, making countless friends. Bob had a gift for easily engaging everyone he came in contact with in a friendly conversation that ended with smiles and laughter. He was known as a great storyteller. Those that were fortunate enough to spend time with him were regularly treated to one of his extremely sharp and witty stories. Bob considered himself blessed and enjoyed the little things in life. Bob had a great love of family and friends. There was nothing better for him than when his extended family was together, especially for seafood feasts including family shrimp feeds. Bob was the oldest of seven children. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Agnes, his sister Harriett Mayo, and three brothers Russell, Arthur, and Malcolm. Bob is survived by his five children, his son David P. Brackett and wife Jo of Leeds, ME; his daughter Beth Zarecki and her husband John of California; his daughter Judy Smith and her husband William of Philadelphia, PA; his daughter Shelby Scully and her husband William of West Hartford, CT; his step-daughter Mary Iris and her husband Anthony of Cape Elizabeth, ME; eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; along with his two remaining brothers, Richard 'Dick' Brackett of Auburn ME, and Clifford Brackett of Florida."

He was born in Wesley Nov. 28, 1924, the son of Roger and Minerva (Sharman) Gray. Allen attended Wesley schools and graduated from Washington Academy in East Machias. He also was a graduate of Washington State Normal School, now the University of Maine in Machias. He later received his bachelor's degree and master's degree in education from the University of Maine at Orono. In 1948 he married the former Prudence Bartley of Westfield. He had been a resident of East Vassalboro since 1949 and was employed as a principal at the elementary school in North Vassalboro and later at Winslow's Boston Avenue school and Garand St. School. He was then employed as a salesman for seven years by Sunshine Biscuits in the Waterville area. In 1965 he returned to teaching and became principal of Pleasant Street School in Waterville, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Maine Principal's Association, the National Education Association, the Vassalboro United Methodist Church, Vassalboro Grange and the Vassalboro Masonic Lodge, of which he was a past master. He had served on the Vassalboro Town Budget Committee and the Vassalboro School Board. He was instrumental in starting the Wesley Historical Scoeity. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the US Army in the Pacific area. He is survived by his mother ,Minerva Gray of East Vassalboro; his wife, Prudence Gray of East Vassalboro; two sons, Gary Gray of East Vassalboro and Douglas Gray of East Vassalboro; two daughters, Ann Gray-Clark and Lynne Gray, both of East Vassalboro; two brothers, James Gray of North Vassalboro and Austin Gray of Wesley; two sisters, Maxine Robbins of East Vassalboro and Agnes Diffin of Robbinston; five grandchildren, Jeremy, Joshua, and Erin Gray, Travis and Sarah Clark; several nieces and nephews. . . . Burial will be in the Methodist Cemetery in East Vassalboro."

It states: ' In 1762, John Small came from Cape Elizabeth and settled on the lot below the creek, near the Methodist meeting-house in Millbridge. His son Elisha, afterward so well known as Deacon Small, was then four or five years old. He was the oldest son by a second wife. He had several older half-brothers. One of these, Jonathan Small, took up the lot next south of the Dea. Small lot, the same afterwards owned by Joseph Tucker. The sons of Jonathan were John, Joseph, Timothy, Daniel & James.'"
