[46999] "The Akron Beacon Journal, 26 December 1929," p. 23: "Funeral services for Henry M. Motz, 87, half-brother of Col. George Sieber and former resident of Akron, who died Tuesday, will be held Friday afternoon at 1 :30 o'clock. The services will be held at the home of his daughter, Mrs. F. W. Gehring, 11427 Bellflower rd, Cleveland, and will be followed by burial In the family lot In Glendale cemetery here. He died at his daughter's home where he had resided since the death of his wife in 1925. Mr. Motz came to Akron In 1864 from his birthplace, Snyder county, Pa and lived here until 1896. While In Akron, he was identified with the city's leading business and church activities. He was one of the founders of the Trinity Lutheran church and his wife was a leading singer in the church choir. Together with his brother, the late John Motz, former city treasurer, Mr. Motz was in the real estate and insurance business here for many years. He went from here to Indiana and then to Chicago where he established a real estate business and continued to reside there until 1925 when he came to Cleveland to the home of his daughter. Mr. Motz was a member of the Fifty-Year club and of the Akron lodge I. O. O. F. He leaves five children, Fred J. Motz of Monroe, Mich., Mrs. Sara E. McCrum of Buenos Aires, South America, Mrs. Gehring of Cleveland, Herbert M. Motz of Santiago, Cal., and Charles G. Motz of Chicago, six grandchildren, and six great grandchildren."
