She was born March 16, 1929, in Holmes County, the daughter of William and Lena Mackey Wachtel, and married John Paullin. He preceded her in death. Doris was a graduate of Wooster Business College, and was a secretary for Haudenshield Insurance in Loudonville and Washington Mutual in Lakeville, where she retired. She was member of Lakeville United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, Bible school teacher and founder of JAM (Jesus and Me). She was a 4-H adviser, a member of Nashville Grange and volunteered and was a regular blood donor at Holmes County Chapter of the Red Cross. Doris was an avid sports fan, following West Holmes sports, as well as Ohio State and the Cleveland Indians. Surviving are children, Penny Blubaugh of Danville, Chuck (Lola) Paullin of Lakeville, Jane (Michael) Smith of Loudonville, Deb (John) Ridgway of Radium Springs, N.M., Dianne Bell of Wooster and Nancy (Ed) Moore of Killbuck; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Wayne (Mary Lou) Wachtel of Orrville."
