Otto was the son of Aleram and his first wife. Notably obscure, he did not appear with his parents and his younger brother Anselm at the foundation of the monstery of Grazzano in 961. On Aleram's death in 967, the great marca Aleramica was broken up: Montferrat went to Otto and Liguria to Anselm. Their elder brother William II had already deceased. In his own lifetime, Otto does not appear in any document with the margravial title, but he appears in the documents of later generations cited as such. He appears in a confirmation of the possessions of the abbacy of Fruttuaria with the title in a patronymic. He probably never used the title in life, but his descendents retroactively applied it to him, as he held the same post as they. Otto died in 991, as known by the foundation act of his son for the monastery of Spigno, which Otto himself had planned on building. By his unnamed wife, he left two sons: an eldest named William, who succeeded him, and younger named Riprando. He also left two daughters, Otta and Waldrada (Gualderada)."

Besides his father and stepmother, John H. and Gertrude Seeley of Sinclair, he is survived by his wife, Louise (Higgins) Seeley of Presque Isle; two sons, Hayden and daughter-in-law, Aurelie Seeley of Presque Isle, and Hal Seeley of Guilford; one daughter, Dilonna and son-in-law, Steve Coran of Williamsport, Pa.; one half brother, Richard Seeley of Virginia Beach, Va.; three grandchildren, Chevonne, Stefanie and Michael; several cousins."

[3046] Johann Albrecht emigrated from Wurtemberg, Germany, according to family tradition, and arrived on the Ship Mary from London at Philadelphia 26 Sept 1732 with his brother John Philip Strauss (b. 13 Sept 1713). Albrecht and John settled adjacent farms about a mile and a half north of Bernville where Albrecht was a founding member of Friedens Lutheran Church. "Eighteenth Century Emigrants from German-Speaking Lands to North America: The Northern Kraichgau," Annette Kunselman Burgert (Breinigsville, PA: PA Germany Society, 1983), p. 361reports his family and states that "Albright Straus" of Bern Twp., Berks Co. was naturalized 24 Sept 1755. The "Return and Assessment of the County of Berks, for the year 1784" (PA Archives, Ser. 3, Vol. 27, p. 579, shows "Albrecht Strouss, Sen'r" with 150 acres, 2 horses, 2 cattle and 2 sheep; also listed is "Albrecht Strouss, Jun'r" with 140 acres, 2 horses and 4 cattle, and "Jacob Strouss" with 10 acres.
