[47436] "The Press Herald [Pine Grove, PA], 22 Jul 1976": "The Death of Dr. David George Moyer of Lansdale on July 11 is of interest in this area, since Dr. Moyer was the son and grandson of former Donaldson physicians. Dr. Moyer died at his home at the age of 65. A native of Hatfield, he grew up in Lansdale, received his bachelors degree from Lafayette College in 1935, attended University of Pennsylvania Medical School for one semester and received his M.D. from New York University Medical College in 1941. Dr. Moyer did a great deal of work with athletes, and was an instructor at Penn State, He served as team physician for North Penn High School and was travelling team physician for Lafayette College. He organized panel discussions at Germantown Academy on athletic medicine. He was a member of the Philadelphia College of Physicians, the Lansdale Board of Health, and a board member of the North Penn Symphony Orchestra. In addition to his medical practice, Dr. Moyer was an amateur composer. He served as a vestryman at the Episcopal Church of the Messiah, Gwynedd, Pa. Survivors include his wife, the former Josephine Bacauskas; three daughters; Patricia Eleanor, Cynthia Anne and Elizabeth Josephine; three sons by his previous marriage to the former Helen Mott: David George Jr., Richard Mott and Stephen Robert; and his mother, Mrs. Louise Theresa Yost Moyer. Dr. Moyer's grandfather, the late Dr. David Shade Moyer, was a practicing physician in Donaldson for many years. His father, the late Dr. David Bruce Moyer, was born and raised in Donaldson."
