[26695] In 2007 http://www.answers.com/topic/frederick-i-duke-of-lorraine offers: "Frederick I (French: Ferry or Ferri) (c.1143 7 April 1206) was the duke of Lorraine from 1205 to his death. He was the second son of Matthias I and Judith, daughter of Frederick II, Duke of Swabia. He succeeded his brother, Simon II, who had already given him the county of Bitche in 1176 and had recognised him over the northern, germanophone half of Lorraine by the Treaty of Ribemont of 1179. Judith had wanted him to succeed to all their father's inheritance, but a three-year civil war only secured him Bitche and a half-portion. Simon abdicated to a monastery in 1205, recognising Frederick's son Frederick as heir. Frederick inherited it all nevertheless, but died a year later and it went to his son by Ludmilla (1150 1223), daughter of Mieszko III the Old, duke of Greater Poland and high duke of all Poland>, and Elisabeth, daughter of Prince llmos."

[3481] Her widowed mother fled with the children from Northumberland and found refuge with the Scottish king. Margaret was canonized in 1251 because of her favors to the church, including rebuilding of the Iona monastery. She died four days after her husband and eldest son Edward were slain at Alnwick Castle. {-Encycl. Brit., 1956, 14:875.} In 2007 http://fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands/ENGLAND,%20AngloSaxon%20&%20Danish%20Kings.htm offers: "Margaret ([in Hungary] [1046/53]-Edinburgh Castle 16 Nov 1093, bur Dunfermline Abbey, Fife, transferred to Escorial, Madrid, her head bur Jesuit College, Douai). Although Margaret's birth is often placed in [1045/46], a later birth would be more consistent with the 'German' theory of her mother's origin, as discussed above. Margaret's birth as late as 1053 would still be consistent with her having given birth to four children before her daughter Edith/Matilda (later wife of Henry I King of England), whose birth is estimated to have taken place in [1079/80]. The Anglo-Saxon Chronicle records that Margaret left England with her mother in Summer 1067 and found refuge at the court of Malcolm King of Scotland. Florence of Worcester records that 'clitone Eadgaro et matre sua Agatha duabusque sororibus suis Margareta et Christina' left England for Scotland, in a passage which deals with events in mid-1068. Florence of Worcester records that 'regina Scottorum Margareta' died from grief after learning of the death of her husband and oldests son. The Annals of Ulster record that 'his queen Margaretdied of sorrow for him within nine days' after her husband was killed in battle. She was canonised in 1250, her feast day in Scotland is 16 Nov. m (Dunfermline Abbey 1070) as his second wife, Malcolm III "Caennmor/Bighead" King of Scotland, son of Duncan I King of Scotland & his wife Sibylla of Northumbria (1031-killed in battle near Alnwick, Northumberland 13 Nov 1093, bur Tynemouth, later transferred to Dunfermline Abbey, Fife, and later still to Escorial, Madrid)."
