Robert, second son of his parents, became heir to his brother Aubrey who died without children by Sept., 1214, reputed to be one of the "evil counselors" of King John. Robert sided with the barons against John; he made his peace with Henry III and was appointed to the Court of the King's Bench. Robert was third Earl of Oxford and was Lord Chamberlain, as well as a Magna Carta Surety. Cf. The Visitation of Yorkshire in the Years 1563 and 1564," William Flower, Charles Best Norcliffe, College of Arms (Great Britain), Harleian Society, p. 227.

"Captain" Samuel Wasson is son of J. Wasson and Martha Seaton according to the GenWeb site for ME which reports that he and Elizabeth also had Samuel (Jr.), Betsy ("Elisa"), Polly, David and Simeon. "Maritime History of Brooksville," LeCain W. Smith (Brooksville, ME Historical Society, 2005), p. 88 states "Son of John Wasson and Martha Seaton. Married Elizabeth Parker. This captain was a military man and merchant who built the sloop 'Polly & Hannah' with John Wasson in 1800. In 1820 he built the schooner 'Brooksville,' which sailed for 25 years. He owned her with people from Castine and other places."
