[8] Naomi graduated from Barberton Business School and attended Otterbein College. She worked as a secretary, was a Girl Scout leader, organized a youth choir and sang in several church choirs. Her life was celebrated by 120+ family and friends at Epiphany Lutheran Church, Harrisburg, 20 March 1994 (son Forrest read her favorite Psalm [139:1-18], sister Kathleen read Revelation 21:1-7, niece Julie played the organ, niece Diane and Julie's husband sang, Diane's husband played the trumpet and husband Albert spoke). Naomi descends from Westhall Ridgely (b. 1742), a Patriot who served in the War for American Independence.

He arrived in July, 1735 and landed at Philadelphia aboard British ship "Molly". John Jacob with seven other men going on watch at Fort Henry were killed by Native Americans. His widow, Eva Maria, m. 30 May 1756 Peter Muench at Altalaha Lutheran Church, Rehrersburg, before the Rev. Johan Caspar Stoever. The Ritzman(n) surname may have originated in the occupation of the head of the family: Ritz means scratch, and could indicate an engraver? There was a family of this surname around Basel in Switzerland, just south of the area where John Jacob's family was found.
From the Comprehensive History of Gratz, PA, Gratz Historical Society, 1997: "The earliest known ancestor of the Ritzman family was Johann Jacob Ritzman who was born in Oberowishein between Karlsruker and Heidelberg, Germany. He came to America and migrated from Schoharie, NY to Berks Co., PA with Conrad Weiser. Johann Jacob died November 15, 1755 near Ft. Henry, Bethel Twp., Berks Co. when the Indians raided the blockhouse at Dietrich Six's, on the old Shamokin Road (near present day Rt. 501). Several men were killed at the time, including George Wolf. Johann Jacob left a widow, Eva Maria, and two children. After Johann Jacob was killed, Eva Maria married Peter (Munch) Minnich. Reverend Casper Stover performed the ceremony on May 30, 1756."
