[4681] See "History of The Byzantine State," George Ostrogorsky, revised edition, 1969; Rutgers University Press, New Brunswick, NJ; pp 481. The IGI file reports that he is son of Manuel Angelus. Cf. http://www.friesian.com/romania.htm#latin which names him "Constantine Porhpyrogenitus" and states he is son of Michael IV, Emperor - but compare http://www.fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands/BYZANTIUM%2010571204.htm. http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~cousin/html/p86.htm reports "He was was a General in the war with the Normans between 1143 and 1154."

[3364] Constance is daughter of Alphonso VII, King of Castile and Leon, but we do not know her mother (although Leo van de Pas' web site, http://www.genealogics.org, attributes her to Berengaria of Barcelona). Louis affianced their daughter Marguerite by the treaty of Gizors (1158) to Henry, eldest son of the English king, promising the Vexin and Gisors as dowry; Marguerite m. (2) in 1188 Bela III, King of Hungary. Louis' second daughter with Constance was Adelaide, betrothed to Richard the Lionhearted but finally married in 1195 to William III, Count of Ponthieu.

[18101] Wolff is son of Johann Jacob Rathgeber and Anna Maria Holzwarth. Jagsthausen is a small town on the Jagst River, a tributary of the Neckar River, NE of Heilbronn. The name of the river + "hausen" indicates it was once an important river town, and a castle remains as evidence of this. A Rathgeber genealogy is available on the World Wide Web at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~njessex/towns/county/rathgeber.htm
