Jonathan left two sons, George and Thomas, under the guardianship of an uncle, so presumably died after his wife. The uncle appears to have wanted them out of the way in order to gain their inheritances, so shipped them to America. Thomas finally settled at Enfield in 1682 and George was one of the first settlers at New London about 1651. N.B. No VR for Jonathan appear in existing Devonshire records - see NEHGS Nexus Vol. IV #3 (June-Aug 1987) - ancestry given here for Jonathan may be in error, as claimed by Jean E. Maack (2983 Siskiyou Blvd., Medford, OR 97504 in the Summer 1998 issue (Vol. 5, Nop. 3) of the Geer Family Association Newsletter.
