[12077] Through Mélisende's marriage, the royal line continued. http://www.guide2womenleaders.com/womeninpower/Womeninpower1100.htm offers: "The daughter King Baldwin II of Jerusalem (d.1131) and his Armenian wife Morphia (d.1129). In 1128 she was designated as her fathers successor and began her reign with him. In 1129 she married Fulk V of Anjou (France). In 1131, they became joint rulers of Jerusalem until he launched a war against her. But her forces prevailedand she insisted on strong peace-terms, which included her admission to the inner councils of the kingdom. After Fulk's death Melisende became regent for her 13 year old son, Baldwin. 1145 was the year Baldwin was to celebrate the attainment of his majority. Melisende ignored the date, easing him out of every place of influence, omitting his name from public acts. Her son Baldwin would not agree to this and once again the Kingdom of Jerusalem was divided - this time between the supporters of Melisende and those of her son. A compromise was reached before open war between the two broke out - The Kingdom was to be divided between mother and son - Melisende would rule Judea and Samaria, whilst her son Baldwin governed all the North. Soon, however, it was realized that the Kingdom could not be ruled in the manner and Melisende was soon deserted by nobility. Faced with this loss of support, she finally yielded to her son Baldwin in around 1152. Even though she retained Nablus as part of the settlement, she retired from politics, though she did remained her son's closest adviser. When her son Baldwin was absent during the many wars that plagued the Kingdom, Melisende acted a regent."

[11422] http://www.geo.ed.ac.uk/scotgaz/people/famousfirst1172.html reports: "Political pawn and soldier. Eldest son of the 2nd Earl of Arran and Duke of Châtelherault, who was Regent to the young Mary, Queen of Scots. Hamilton was held prisoner by his father's enemies, first in St. Andrews (1543) and then in France (1548-59). While there he became Commander of the Scots Guards in that country (1550-7). Hamilton became a pawn in his father's attempts to gain the Crown of Scotland for himself, being promised first as a husband for Elizabeth of England to seal an Anglo-Scottish Alliance and then later for Mary, to secure the Hamilton succession to the throne. All of this had a terrible effect on Hamilton's mental health and he was judged insane in 1562 and confined until his death. He is thought to be buried in St. Bride's kirkyard at Lamlash on the Isle of Arran. Having no heirs, his titles passed to his younger brother John, who became 1st Marquess of Hamilton, although the Earldom of Arran had temporarily passed to James Stewart between 1581-5."

They married in 1969, and started their life together in Portland where Dana worked as a vocational rehab counselor. After their children, Rachael and Seth, were born, the family moved to Caribou, and Dana began his 28-year career working in education for the Caribou School System. Throughout his life, Dana enjoyed spending time golfing, gardening, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and fishing. He could often be found working with his hands on everything from miniature boat building to house renovations. He was a fan of old-time rock and roll music and loved to dance. Dana most enjoyed time spent with family and friends at the camp on Cross Lake and tenting on Little Deer Isle. In 2005, Dana and Becky retired together to travel and become 'snowbirds' spending winters in St. Petersburg, Fla. Summers were spent at Little Deer Isle where they built a home and Dana was able to share his love of the island with his grandchildren.
