[47702] The 3 June 1880 federal census in Middleburg, Snyder Co., PA lists Leonard N. Myers (age 42, a lawyer), Mary L. (age 31, wife) and daughter Jennie E. (age 6). His line is from the unverified Sheaffer Family Tree in 2020 in Ancestry.com. His obituary: "Leonard N. Myers, 23 S. Broadway, veteran Akron insurance man, died Saturday afternoon while visiting his brother-in-law, Geo. M. Motz, at Middelburg, Pa. Mr. Myers was born in Juniata county, Pa., Feb. 22, 1838. In early life he worked upon the farm and taught school in that locality, later going west, teaching in Indiana and Illinois. He took up the study of law, and was admitted to the bar in South Bend, Ind., where he practiced for some time. In 1867, he moved to Middleburg, Pa., where he was elected district attorney for two terms. On November 24, 1868, he was married to Mary L. Motz, at Middleburg, Pa. Of this marriage there were born two children, a daughter, Jennie E, the wife of Chas. A. Anderson, of this city, and a son, who died in iniancy. in 1880, he was elected a member of the state legislature of Pennsylvania, where he served with distinction. Mr. Myers was a republican in politics, and was in the historic Chicago wigwam wherein Lincoln was nominated for president in 1860, and cast his first vote for Abraham Lincoln. In 1883, be removed to this city and engaged in the insurance business with John Motz, under the firm name of Motz & Myers, in which business he continued until within a few years before the death of Mr. Motz, when he retired from business. Last November, he celebrated the golden anniversary ol his marriage, surrounded by a large group of friends and relatives. Mr. Myers was a member of the Lutheran church, which he regularly attended for more than 60 years. He was also a member of the Masonic fraternity and Knights of Pythias. His widow, Mary L. Myers, and daughter, Jennie E. Anderson, survive."
