[33837] A Find A Grave memorial includes Otis' obituary: Otis H. Aldrich, a former resident of Duncannon, died at his home at Avalon, N.J., Wednesday at midnight, aged 80 years and 1 month. Mr. Aldrich and wife had been spending the summer at Avalon and had all their goods packed up ready to leave on Thursday to spend the winter in the city. During Wednesday, Mr. Aldrich had been out fishing in the inlet and had remarked upon his unusually good health. During the night his wife was awakened by her husband in distress. He complained of a pain in the region of his heart. Mrs. Aldrich applied remedies and summoned neighbors, but of no avail, as Mr. Aldrich passed away shortly. No physician could have been secured in time, and the nearest one lived miles away. Deceased was a native of Massachusetts. For many years he had charge of the stave mill of the Duncannon Iron Company at Monetbello, and later Duncannon. He resigned the position on account of bad health. Mr. Aldrich was twice married. His first wife was a Miss Black, of Raccoon Valley.--Of this union two children survive; Burt Aldrich, of Taunton, Mass., and Mrs. Jennie Kreamer, of Nebraska. His second wife was Miss Kate Rice, sister of William and Oliver Rice, of this place. His widow and three children survive him; Mrs. Abbie Black, of Washington D.C.; Mrs Sue Sheibley, of Harrisburg, and Jay C. Aldrich, of Easton, Pa. Find A Grave reports his grave is in Duncannon, PA but the PA Dept. of Military Affairs burial record states it is in New Bloomfield, PA.

John Stone and John Oldham and three others. In the course of their voyage they were barbarously murdered by the Indians near the Connecticut River. Governor Winthrop tells of this event on 21 Jan. 1633-34, and adds that Capt. Stone took Capt. Norton aboard at Agamenticus. He married (1) in England, Mrs. Jane (Reve) Reynolds, the mother of his children. He married (2) Eleanor -, who survived him and married (2) William Hooke, an early Governor of the Province of Maine." "History of York, Maine," Banks, Charles Edward (Baltimore: Regional Publishing Co., 1967) Vol. I, pp. 85-91, recites Colonel Walter Norton's important role in founding York, Maine, and reports: "Walter Norton had seen many years of service in the wars of the Low Countries, gradually rising from the lower grades of military rank to that of Lieutenant-Colonel, for meritorious conduct in battle.... [In Maine] it is probable that his home was on the east side of the Meeting House Creek.... " "Planters of the Commonwealth," Charles Edward Banks (Baltimore: Genealogical Publishing Co., 2006), p. 63 lists Lt. Col. Walter Norton of Sharpenhoe, Bedford co., and London arriving in Massachusetts Bay in 1629, settling in Charlestown. [34444] This person is from the unverified file in http://www.noyesgenealogy.net in 2016 which offers: "OBIT: Mrs. Jennie (Paul) Finnamore, the widow of Hamilton Finnamore, aged 61, died Friday morning, July 1, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Temple, in Limestone. Mrs. Finnemore was the daughter of Hiram and Fannie Paul, and was born in Stewardstown, N.H. She came to Limestone about 56 years ago, where she became the wife of Hamilton Finnamore, whom she survived by only about eight months. They resided here in Limestone until a few years ago, when they moved to Caribou where they were living at the time of Mr. Finnamore's death. Mrs. Finnamore came to Limestone recently to visit her daughter. She was well as usual, attended church on Sunday morning, and was taken ill with shock on Sunday afternoon, growing worse steadily until the end came. She lived an exemplary life, and was loved and respected by all who knew her. Truly we can say one of our best women has fallen. Mrs. Finnamore is survived by five daughters; Mrs. Marcia Noyes and Mrs. William Temple, Limestone; Mrs. Otto Palmer, Houlton; Miss Hazel Finnamore and Miss Thelma Finnamore, Caribou; and three sons, Mason, Louis and Waldo Finnamore, all of Caribou. Her aged mother, now living in the South, also survives. There are also left to mourn several brothers and sisters, among whom are George Paul of Caribou, Albion Paul of Washburn and James Paul of Perham. Others living at a distance are Frank, Hiram, Sarah, Guy, Francina, Susan and Clara."
