[26071] Virginia Horler offers: "Thomas served in the Revolutionary War. He enlisted in Gorham, served in Captain Pray's Company, and in 1821 he applied for a pension under the Act of 1818. His application lists his children and wife and their ages, and Thomas states therein that he owned 40 acres of land. He was initially stricken from the pension list because of his land holding. Thomas did receive a pension in 1832 and he died in 1846. His second wife, Lydia Cotton, married Thomas June 6, 1835, and in 1855 she applied for and was granted a pension based on his service. She was a resident of Standish. Eight children born in Standish from 1790 to 1805. He married (1) Betty Frost, married 23 Aug 1787 in Gorham, Cumberland, ME, b. 31 Aug 1767 in Gorham, Cumberland, ME, d. before 17 June 1835. He married (2) Lydia Cotton, married 17 Jun 1835 in Standish, ME, b. 1782 of Standish, Cumberland, ME, d. after 1855 in Standish, Cumberland, ME."
