[16564] Thomas m. Elizabeth Freeman and was a freeman of Sudbury, MA in 1670. In 1703 he sold out and moved to Norwich. Find A Grave memorial 17802150 provides a list of his children and offers: "Note: No burial record has been found for Thomas, but he is likely buried in one of the ancient cemeteries of Norwich or Preston, CT. He and three siblings were all baptized together in Hingham, Mass. in 1646; he is assumed to be the oldest of the four, and therefore born about 1640. Thomas was the son of Stephen Gates and Ann Neave of Hingham, Mass. He was married in Sudbury, Mass. 7 July 1670 to Elizabeth Freeman, b. Sudbury 23 June 1648, apparently dead by 1723 when not mentioned in her husband's will. The family resided in Stow, Charlestown, Marlborough, and Sudbury, Mass. before moving to Preston, CT. In his will, dated 10 July 1723, with codicil 8 April 1724, Thomas called himself of Norwich, though his death was recorded in Preston. His land may have straddled both towns. The inventory of his estate totaled 535 pounds."
