Mr. Thatcher at the time of the "New Light" excitement and he withdrew to the Free Will Baptists. While he and others were attending a Baptist convention and the women were preparing dinner for them the house burned down. Roll sworn to at Middleborough. Capt. Henry Pierce's Co., Col. Theophilous Cotton's Regt. - enlisted 8 March 1781, discharged 31 Marchj 1781, served 26 days at Rhode Island by order of his Excellency John Hancock of 40 days expedition. In the 28 July 1870 census Nathan and Melinda [sic] are in the household next to Yost and Mary, and have children Lucy (10), Minnie (7), Birdie (5) and Braxton (1). In the 8 June 1880 census Nathan and Melinda have in their household Minerva (16), Birdie (14), Braxton (11) and Mary (Nathan's mother, age 67). Myers families are nearby in all three censuses.
