Christina Straub's "Straubs, Smiths and Extended Family," posted on Ancestry.com, states: "'New World Immigrants,' Vol. 2, p. 67: 'Baptized at Minfeld, September 15, 1701, son of Ludwig Fosselman in Minfeld and wife Maria Margaretha Schaeffer; married at Minfeld August 23, 1729, to Elizabetha Margaretha Probst, daughter of Christolph Probst; emigrated thirty years ago to the New Land (Document dated 1762). Brother-in-law, Johnnes Kauffmann.'
"In April 1732, Erhart was in Minfeld selling and signing over his land to his mother and sibling. They probably never lived in Overseebach. The sale was recorded in the name of Johan Erhardt Vosselmann.
"He was the first Vossellman (Fossellman) immigrant to America, arriving on October 17, 1732 on the ship 'John and William' with Johann Michael Probst, single, and Philipp Jacob Probst and his family. His history is documented in Askew's book on Vosselmann history and in 'The Brobst Chronicles.' His sister, Maria Margaretha (Vossellman) Ott, came to America in 1752
"He was granted 150 acres of land in Lynn Twp. Northampton Co., PA in 1738. The property lay near the western edge of Lynn Twp, between Ontelaunee Creek and Kistler's Creek, just east of Mathias Probst's and Michael Brobst's property.
"The ship 'John and William,' Captain: Constable Tymperton, sailed from Rotterdam by way of Dover, England and arrived in Philadelphia Oct. 17, 1732. 'Hans Earhart Vosselmann' was listed among the passengers, as well as 'Philip Jacob Probst' from Oberseebach in Alsace, with his wife Anna Katharina and children Johannes Michael, 11, Johannes Valentin, 8, Johannes Martin, 6, and Anna Maria, 1."
Nicholas was a shipwright at Kittery, Maine, purchased land east of Spruce Creek in 1672 (Week's Point) where his house was burned in an Indian raid, and was Constable in 1673 and Grand Juror several years - "Gen. Dict. of ME & NH," p. 733.
Randy Weeks offered by email (fifi@pop.ma.ultranet.com) 23 Feb 1998 information from books by Robert D. Weeks. The first book is "Genealogy of the Family of George Weekes of Dorechester, MA.1635 - 1650: with some information in regard to other families of the name: especially, Thomas, of Huntington, L.I. and Nathaniel, of Falmouth and Harwick, MA,". By Robert D. Weeks, published 1885 by press of L.J. Hardham, Newark, N.J. The second book is "Genealogy of the
Family of George Weekes of Dorchester, MA. Part II," published by the same author, and press, in 1892. This book makes corrections and additions to the main book. They can be purchased from the New England Historic Genealogical Society in Boston, Mass. The main book is item #P3-59000 for $75.00, Part II item # P3-59025 for $36.00.:
"William, at Portsmouth, testified, July 21, 1647 that he was 45 years old or thereabouts. He may have been a brother of Leonard. The Weekses of Kittery, Me. are thought to be his descendants; He may have been the ancestor of some of the Maine families whose line has not been traced. (by author Robert D. Weeks)."

"Leonard, b. in England in 1635; settled in Portsmouth, N.H. where land was granted him in 1656; m. about 1667, Mary, d. of Dea. Samuel Haines (a descendant in the male line from Robert, Earl of Cornwall, brother of William the Conqueror), who settled at Winnicut (now Greenland) in 1667. Leonard had children- John, 1668; Samuel ("Capt"), 1670 (m. his cousin Elinor Haines): Joseph, 1672; Joshua, 1674; Mary, 1676; Johnathan; and by his second wife Elizabeth, he had Margaret and Sarah, twins, 1679. He d.1707. His descendants are numerous in N.H. and Maine; still there are families in both these states whose connection with him has not been traced. (by author R.D.W.)(see my footnote).
"Footnote: in 1885 or thereabouts Rev. Jacob Chapman, of Exeter, N.H. was collecting material on the Leonard and William Weeks families for publication at a later date. The book was published in 1889 Leonard Weeks of Greenland, New Hampshire and Descendants, 1639-188. "I have at least six pages of names persons, wives, children with and without dates and no information connecting them to William or Leonard, although the author feels they probably are.I am going nuts trying to cross refference them, but as of now, no definite proof."
