Edwin's birth date is from the V.R., but probably wrong as it follows his sister's by only six months; he was probably born in 1837-38. "History of Castine - The Battle Line of Four Nations," George A. Wheeler [Second Edition; Cornwall, NY: The Cornwall Press, 1922], list prior to the Appendix, includes Edwin among those who served from Penobscot in the Army during the War Between the States and reports that he was promoted from Private to Corporal.

[10610] "Beckie" is daughter of John Hench Ritter and Sarah Ann Baker. Beckie graduated from Shippensburg Normal School and was a teacher prior to her marriage. She died from a recurrance of tuberculosis. John Hench Ritter was b. 3 Oct 1829. He d. 26 Sep 1908 in or near Loysville, Perry Co., Pa. He married Sarah Ann Baker (b. 17 Oct 1840, d. 11 Dec 1912, m. 27 Nov 1866). John was a farmer, inherited and occupied his father's farm near Loysville.
