[40919] "Lansing State Journal [Lansing, Michigan], 26 December 1958," p. 17: "Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Monday at the Berl Field funeral home, Dimondale, for Fred E. Twichell, 83, who died unexpectedly Tuesday in Los Angeles. He was the father of 10 children, including three central Michigan businessmen. Among them is Burr Twichell, dry cleaner and former East Lansing councilman. A son, Maurice, owns an Eaton Rapids grocery, and another son Arthur, is a dry cleaner in Bellevue. Two sons are employed by the Michigan State university. Harley of East Lansing is connected with the chemistry laboratory and Roy of Eaton Rapids is associated with the university's farm crops section. Another son, Elmer, lives and works in Eaton Rapids, which also is the home of a daughter, Mrs. Verna McCarrick. He had not been hospitalized. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Another son, Harvey, lives in Wichita, Kan., and another daughter, Mrs. Bessie North, lives in St Petersburg, Fla. A brother, Frank, makes his home in Lansing. Twenty-seven grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren also survive." Fred is son of Edward B. Twichell and Martha M. Dunbar.
