[36032] The 5 April 1940 federal census in Guthrie, Panora Co., IA lists Persis (daughter, age 26) in the household of John Newbanks (farmer, age 65, b. in IL) - she is listed as a housekeeper, apparently for her father. Persis obituary in Find A Grave in 2014: m. " Gordon Coleman at Lohrville on November 10, 1940. They lived in Casey, but later moved to Linden. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband, by one brother, Phil, and by one sister, Margarete Bassett. Survivors include three sons, Norman of Marietta, Ga., Gary of Panora and Gerald of Marshalltown; a brother, Harold Newbanks of Omaha, Nebraska; a sister, Harriett Crabbs of Norwalk; three grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren."
