[18670] Joseph and Hannah had Sara Ann (b. 8 Oct 1812, d. 11 Jan 1842, buried in Blue Hill, ME) who never married but had a son, Joseph A. Grindle (b. 4 Dec 1834/5); Joseph shows in Verona, ME in the 1860 census as a sea captain and in 1850 in Penobscot in the household of Luxford Stover (b. ca. 1787, farmer). In 1860 Joseph was in the household of Samuel Door and Irene S. - Mary A. Grindle, b. ca. 1826, was also residing there and was probably his wife.

[47617] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 12 March 1940, p. 17: "North Castine, March 11 - Everett E. Leach, 78, died at his home here at 10 o'clock this morning. He was the last of the family of Charles and Polly Leach of Penobscot. He had been a member of Rising Star lodge, F. and A. M. of Penobscot, 55 years, and was a past patron of S. K. Whiting chapter, O. E. S., and a past master of Castine grange. He leaves his wife, Ada Roberts Leach; two sons, Maxwell and Horace, both of Castine; a daughter, Mrs. Lowena Devereux; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Another daughter, Mrs. Mildred Davis. died in Belfast four months ago. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p m at the home of his son, Maxwell Leach, in North Castine where the late Mr. Leach made his home for over 15 years as caretaker of the Keener farm."
