Over his long valued life he was a farmer, a logger, a pilot, a service man and proud veteran, a Scout leader, a past Master Mason of Warren Lodge No. 2 and a dual member of David Hooper Lodge, member of the Trenton Grange, member of the Trenton Historical Society, a businessman, past president of his local chamber of commerce, selectman, sign officer and appeals board member, chair for many years of the Hancock County Airport Advisory Committee, a friend, confidant, surrogate Dad to many and first and foremost a happy family man. George was predeceased by the love of his life, Pat. He is survived by his daughter and son Patti Ann Billings and Ernest Hopkins of Trenton, grandson Benjamin and wife, Genevieve M Billings, of Lamoine, great-granddaughter Tabatha Black of Clinton, Conn., and many nieces, nephews and friends across the miles. He will be dearly missed by so many."

He was a ropemaker, and in 1673 was the keeper of the prison in Newport. He was married to Mary Hodges in Nov. 1646. Mary was the daug. of John Hodges and Mary Miller and was born in Charlestown RI, abt. 1628. Robert died Jan. 13, 1688 in Newport, Mary died in Little Compton, RI. This family and descendants were probably Quaker in their beliefs, as many of their marriage and births are recorded in RI Friends Record. The children of Robert and Mary are: 1. Mary, b.
