[51346] "The Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine], 28 Apri 2015": "Bar Harbor - Wilda Martin Higgins, 96, died April 27, 2015, in Bar Harbor. She was born Jan. 28, 1919, in Otter Creek, to Ulysses and Myrtle (Martin) Harvey. Subsequently, her stepfather was George Burns, also of Otter Creek. Wilda attended and graduated as salutatorian from Gilman High School in Northeast Harbor. She worked for 25 years at the Jackson Memorial Laboratory in Bar Harbor. Wilda was furthermore a faithful parishioner at St. Saviours Episcopal Church in Bar Harbor, where she was a longtime member of the Altar Guild. Wilda leaves behind her brother, Rodney Harvey of New Britain, Conn., as well as her sister, Flora, and husband, Robert Bell, of New Britain, Conn., and Naples, Fla. She also leaves her son, Paul, and his wife, Anna Higgins, of Bar Harbor; her son, Peter, and his wife, Althea Higgins, from Madison, Conn. Wilda also leaves behind her grandchildren, Matthew, Aaron, Scott and Alex Higgins and her four great-grandchildren, Karly, Cole, Sophie and Oliver. Wilda was predeceased by her husband of 28 years, Jerry Francis Higgins, as well as by her brothers, Loren and Clarence, her twin brother, Wilmont and her two sisters, Marie and Faye."
