[22810] http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~cousin/html/p148.htm offers: "He was the son of Sancho I, rey de Aragón y de Pamplona and Felicité de Roucy. He succeeded his brother, Peter, to the thrones of Aragon and Pamplona in 1104. King of Aragón in Iberian peninsula between 1104 and 1134. King of Pamplona in Navarre, Iberian peninsula, between 1104 and 1134. He married Urraca, reina de León y de Castilla, daughter of Alfonso VI Fernández 'el Bravo', rey de León and Constance de Bourgogne, in October 1109 in Monzon Castle, Carrion, Spain; Her 2nd. 2nd cousins. Co-ruler of León and Castile in Spain between October 1109 and 1126. He was plunged from 1110 into the troubles with Urraca and the Leonese-Castilian civil wars. The marriage of Alfonso I Sánchez 'el Batallador', rey de Aragón y Navarra and Urraca, reina de León y de Castilla was annulled in 1114; Without issue. He returned home to Aragon still clinging to the imperial title, the symbol of leadership in the reconquest that his marriage had brought him, in 1117. He took on the leadership of the Reconquest, previously led by Leon-Castile since the days of Ferdinand I in 1117. He assembled a large army of Aragonese, Navarrese, Catalan, and south French fighters, including various noble veterans of the First Crusade, among them viscount Gaston of Béarn, who brought to the banks of the Ebro the siege machines and military engineers that had won him fame in 1099 at the capture of Jerusalem, and began the assaults on Saragossa in May 1118. He was conquered Saragossa, in the heartland of the middle Ebro Valley, indicating a decline in the power of the Almoravid muslims, on 18 December 1118. He led a mobile army down past Valencia, Denia, Murcia, and Guadix all the way to Granada between 1125 and 1126. He died on 17 July 1134 in Poleñino, Huesca Province, Aragón, Spain. He died childless a few weeks after the Murâbits crushed the royal army at Fraga, and bequeathed his kingdoms to the Palestinian orders of the Temple, Hospital, and Holy Sepulcher. He left a will in 1134; He left his kingdom to an order of Knights, something which the Aragonese nobles rejected and so they chose Alfonso's brother, Ramiro, to succeeded him."
