[6359] Samuel m. 20 December 1680 Elizabeth Taylor (b. ca 1652, d. 4 May 1721, daughter of Richard Taylor and Ruth Whelden). The family of their son, Samuel (b. 10 Sept 1691) is detailed in "Colonial Families of Martha's Vineyard," Chalres Edward Banks (Baltimore, Gen. Pub. Co., 1999 reprint), p 94-95. Also see (in 2004) http://www.geocities.com/luvacuzn2/cobbHenryC2SarahHinckley.html which reports that Thomas, son of Samuel and Elizabeth, had a daughter, Sarah, who was wife of Robert Treat Paine, a signer of the Declaration of Independence.
The LDS Church's unverified IGI file states that Johannes is son of Johann Matthias Hartman and Maria Elizabeth Moses and states that he was baptized 8 April 1725 in "Evangelisch, Ilbesheim Kirchheimbolanden, Pfalz, Bayern." His will in Chester Co., PA [http://files.usgwarchives.org/pa/chester/wills/wills1786-7.txt]: "May 25, 1787. June 4, 1787. To son Peter Hartman £100. To daughter Abigail, wife of Zachariah Rice £100. To daughter Elizabeth, wife of Nicholas Carter 8/4. To daughter Catharine, wife of William Fuller 8/4. Provides for wife Margaret. To son Jacob my plantation, etc., paying £250 therefor. Remainder divided. Executors: Sons Peter and Jacob." http://mykauffman.com/genealogy/DAR/113198.html states "John (or Johannes) Hartman served on the Committee of Chester County, 1774, to enforce the acts of the Continental Congress." "Records of Hench & Dromgold Reunion," Lelia Dromgold Emig (1913) reports Johannes was b. in Oct 1716 and d. in May 1787, and arrived 15 Aug 1750 on the "Royal Union" with wife Margaret, sons Peter and Jacob, and daughters Maria Apolonia, Elizabeth and Catharine - and that Johannes is son of Johann Matthias Hartman (b. 12 Dec 1688 in Ibesheim and d. there in 1760) and Maria Elizabeth Moses (b. 1697 in Ibesheim, d. there 23 Dec 1727). Also see "The Flickinger Family History," Robert Elliott Flickinger (Des Moines, IA: Success Composition and Printing Co., 1927), p. 304 which states "The Hartman family, after three years in Philadelphia, in 1753, settled on a tract of land obtained from William Penn in Pikeland township, Chester County, Pa. Here Margaret died at 56, in 1773, and Johannes in 1787. They were devout Lutherans, and were buried in the Pikeland cemetery." Also see "History of Chester County, PA," J. Smith Futhey & Gilbert Cope (Philadelphia: Louis H. Everts, 1881), pp. 294 & 589 and "Johannes Hartman of Chester County and His Descendants", John Markley Hartman (Philadelphia, PA : Lizzie Markley Clapham, 1937 ).
A file in Ancestry.com in 2012 offers: [Maria]Abigail Rice's [Hartman] parents, Johannes and Margaret Hartman, were also German immigrants. Johannes was born in 1725, and Margaret in 1723. They arrived in Philadelphia on the ship Royal Union on August 15, 1750, along with their two sons, Jacob and Peter, and three daughters, Marie (Abigail), Elizabeth, and Catherine. They lived in Philadelphia until 1753, when they acquired a tract of land in Pikeland Township, on which they built a log house, which was later replaced with a stone structure. In 1756, during the French and Indian War, Johannes enrolled in the Vincent and Pikeland Guards, which joined Col. John Armstrong in an expedition to subdue Indian attacks in western Pennsylvania. His son, Peter, also joined the campaign as a drummer. In 1775, Johannes Hartman became a member of the Committee of Safety, a group that advocated independence from Britain. During the Battle of Brandywine, Johannes' son, Jacob, was shot. He used a plug of grass to seal his wound and stop the bleeding, then crawled under a bridge to avoid capture. His other son, Peter, became a Major in the Fourth Battalion, Pennsylvania Continental Line. Johannes Hartman died in 1787 and was buried in the St. Peter's Church Cemetery in Chester County. His eldest son, Jacob, inherited his property. Unfortunately, this land was also purchased from Andrew Allen, and was included in the foreclosure writs of 1789. Jacob, who had married Sarah Sahler, was also forced to migrate west, and settled in Saville Township in Perry County. He lived there until 1800, when he moved to Blain, Pennsylvania, also in Perry County. He died in 1823, and was buried in the Blain Cemetery. There is conflicting information about Margaret (Moss) Hartman. One source states that she died in 1773, and, in 1780, Johannes married another woman named Margaret. The other story is that there was only one "Margaret", who lived from 1723 until 1809. In any case, the surviving children of Johannes and Margaret Hartman were:
Jacob Hartman (1735-1823) - Married Sarah Sahler
Peter Hartman (1740-1810) - Married Catherine Stein
Marie Appolonia "Abigail" Hartman (1742-1789) - Married Zachariah Rice
Elizabeth Hartman (1745-?) - Married Nicholas Carter
Catherine Hartman ( dates unknown) - Married William Fuller

[4932] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ieuaf offers: "Idwal ab Idwal (English: Idwal son of Idwal, died 988), usually known as Ieuaf (Welsh: Junior) to distinguish him from his father Idwal Foel, was joint king of Gwynedd in northern Wales from 950 to 969. He possibly also ruled Powys for some time. Ieuaf was a son of King Idwal the Bald. Upon his father's death in battle against the Anglo-Saxons in 942, he and his brother Iago were driven from their kingdom by their uncle Hywel Dda of Deheubarth, who took the crown for himself. On Hywel's death in 950, Ieuaf and Iago were able to drive out Hywel's sons, their cousins, at the Battle of Carno and reclaim the kingdom. However, fighting continued, with the brothers raiding as far south as Dyfed in 952 and their cousins raiding as far north as the Conwy valley in 954. The southern princes were finally defeated at the Battle of Llanrwst and chased back to Ceredigion. Having won, the brothers then began to quarrel among themselves. Iago took Ieuaf prisoner in 969, and Ieuaf played no further role in Gwynedd. Iago ruled another decade before Ieuaf's son Hywel usurped him in 979; according to historian John Edward Lloyd, Ieuaf remained in captivity until his death in 988."
