[1877] Merovaeus, founder of the Merovingian House of Frankish Kings, was possibly the son-in-law rather than son of Clodion. Merovaeus defeated Atilla with the aid of Aetius in 451 and reigned as King, 448-458. [9129] Find A Grave memorial 43600437 offers: "Co-Pilot of the B-24 "Trouble 'n' Mind," his plane was shot down over Germany by an Me-262, the first operational jet fighter. Originally listed as Missing in Action, his remains were recovered in 2007, positively identified in 2008, and returned to the family for burial in his home town of Akron, Ohio, in 2009. Also memorialized at Netherlands American Cemetery. B-24H Liberator #42-95298, near the lead in a formation of 45 bombers on a mission to the rocket manufacturing area of Parchim, the group came under attack by Me-262's. Over Kyritz, Lt. Hershiser's plane was one of three Liberators to be destroyed by cannon fire, and the cockpit took direct hits. The German pilot radioed he was out of ammunition, then proceeded to ram the Liberator. Six crew members survived bailing out before the bomber crashed near the village of Krullenkempe, Germany. The six were immediately taken as prisoners. But 1st Lt. Hershiser , 1st Lt. Ara J Adams and S/Sgt. Peter Fager did not survive."
