"Bangor Daily News, 26 March 2004" offers her obituary: "Elizabeth (Wardwell) O'Brien, 90, died on March 25, 2004, at her home in Blue Hill. She was born in Brooksville, the daughter of Pearl A. and Bessie (Cousins) Wardwell. Elizabeth graduated from Eastern State Normal School in Castine and taught for 38 years in Brooksville and Blue Hill. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Duffy Wescott Post No. 85, a member of the Theta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society and a member of the Ladies Day Circle of the Blue Hill Congregational Church. She is survived by a son, Peter and his wife, Belinda; a granddaughter, Mary Katherine O'Brien; a nephew, Horace Wardwell Jr. and his wife, Sylvia; and a special friend, Peg Robertson. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, Philip in 1984; a brother, Horace Wardwell Sr.; and a sister, Marion Harding."
