[24356] Jane Evans Best's article, "Meyer Families Update," in the "Pennsylvania Mennonite Heritage" magazine, April 1998, p. 32, states that Hans Meyer's will was proved 2 Nov 1757 in York Co., PA. [The article gives the ancestry of Mary Meyer who m. Peter Brillhart.] See also "Brethren Meyer/Myer Families of York and Somerset Counties, Pennsylvania," Emmert F. Bittinger, in "Pennsylvania Mennonite" for Jan 2000, p. 12. The immigrant founder of the Church of the Brethren Meyer/Myer family, he first settled in the Conestoga area of Lancaster Co., PA but by 1746 was r. York Co., PA, about a dozen miles south of the city of York, in an area called "Dunker Valley". His will was writen 3 May 1756 and probated 2 Nov 1757.
