"Fort Collins Coloradoan [Fort Collins, Colorado], 4 December 1958", p. 2: "George C. Motz a resident of the Berthoud area for nearly 70 years and a former town marshal died in Greeley Tuesday morning. He had been in poor health for several years and had been visiting in Greeley for a week. Born in Iowa, Dec. 1, 1869, Mr. Motz lived in Selden and Old Sheridan, Kan., before moving to Berthoud in 1889 following his marriage. He operated a local dairy for many years before retiring. He is survived by two children, Charles Motz of Denver and Mrs Mattie King of Grandview, Wash.; a sister, Mrs Ray Warner of Kansas, four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 3 p m Friday at the Schreiner mortuary. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery."
