Susanne was a lifelong resident of Orrington and she was a dedicated elementary school teacher in Orrington for more than 30 years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who was liked and loved by everybody. Surviving in addition to her husband of Orrington, are two children, Chris Blanchard and his wife, Janet, of Bangor and Stacie Rumery of Jacksonville, NC; six grandchildren, Gabe, Grace and Sam Blanchard, Daniel Caley and Isabel Rumery; a sister, Charlene McGarr and her husband, Scott, of North Carolina; and a brother, Charles H. 'Skip' King III and his wife, Angela, of Bangor; a sister-in-law, Betty Smart of Old Town; and several nieces and nephews including Kerry Empey and her husband, Phil, Sean McGarr and his wife, Amanda, Jennifer Hascall and Scott King and his wife, Julie. She was predeceased by her parents; and by a sister, Carolyn Coyne."

Surviving are six children, Mrs. Edna Mattern, Urban; Mrs. Bessie Mattern, Rebuck; Hilda, Reading; Mrs. Annie Wolfe, Mandata; Mrs. Helen Williams, Dornsife R.
