A file in Ancestry.com in 2014 offers: "Daughter of Sir Edmund Ferrers, Knight of Chartley, Staffordshire, descendant of King Edward I, by Ellen de la Roche, daughter and co-heiress to Sir Thomas. Granddaughter of Sir Robert Ferrers and Margaret le Despenser, Thomas de la Roche and Elizabeth Bermingham. Wife of Sir John Beauchamp of Powick and Acton Beauchamp, son of Sir William Beauchamp and Katherine Usflete. They married before 1434 and had two sons, Sir Richard, 2nd Lord Beauchamp and Thomas. In 1448, Margaret received a papal indult allowing her to eat during Lent and on other fast days as she pleased due to weak health. Margaret's will was dated 29 Jan 1488. Both she and her husband were buried at Dominican Black Friars at Worcester."

She was born September 27, 1924, to parents, Ralph Merrill and Vera Farrington Leach. She graduated from Bangor High School, Farmington State Teacher's College, Aurora College, Aurora, Il., and received her master's degree in Education from Northern Illinois University. She taught elementary students in Veazie, Maine; and 28 years in Bardwell Elementary School, Aurora, Il. She loved all children: 'the good ones, and the naughty ones.' She was predeceased by husbands, Robert P. Allan (d. 1965), and Loren J. Sullivan, (d. 1986), and by grandson, Robert Scott Allan. She is survived by two children: Robert C. Allan and Deborah A. (Bill) Jorgensen; three stepchildren: Mike, Michelle, and Kimberly Sullivan; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three siblings: Ralph Leach, Richard (Pauline) Leach, and Emily Bean; sister-in-law: Lois Glines; as well as many nieces, nephews, and a community of friends."

John was a fisherman, farmer and tavern keeper. The History of York (ME) reports that four of his sons were taken during an Indian attack in October, 1705 - ages 3 to 12; two sons were killed and the fate of a third is unknown, while Joseph is thought to have returned to York. John died before 12 April 1748 in York.
