He had five siblings, namely: Sarah, Rebecca, Deborah, Anna, and Isaac. He died on 22 Sep 1741 in East Granby, Hartford, Connecticut, USA (Buried at East Grandby Cemetery, Connecticut). When he was 28, He married Hannah Higley,daughter of Brewster Higley and Esther Hester Holcombe, in 1735 in Simsbury, Hartford, Connecticut, USA. Elijah Owen Sr. and Hannah Higley-Owen, resided in or near Simsbury, Connecticut. They later moved to Granby, including the present town of East Granby. They were members of 'Turkey Hills Parish Society', where Elijah was elected as the Treasurer of the Society, on 26 December 1739."
